Gerard de Sede
-
Author of Les Templiers sont parmi nous (The Templars Are Among Us, 1962), which first revealed information about the fictional Priory of Sion. Henry Lincoln, coauthor of Holy Blood, Holy Grail, read Gerard's book, eventually contacting him and then beginning an investigation into the secrets surrounding documents found in the village church at Rennes-le-Chateau. These documents supposedly protected an explosive truth hidden by the Roman Catholic Church; it is now known that his information was fabricated, but The Da Vinci Code's popularity has reenergized the legend.
